Malwarebytes Labs uncovered an underground market where operators sell "reputation management" services that flood platforms such as Google, Trustpilot, Yelp and mobile app stores with five-star reviews or remove negative ones. One seller, "aqenova," advertises on demand review generation and removal, while another, TrustForge, claims a "private method" that has posted more than 10,000 fake reviews and guarantees they will not be flagged. The services rely on real people to post reviews, often for an extra fee to have the main operator write the text, and use residential and mobile proxies to disguise IP addresses. Prices range from $100-$200 per review removal, but can reach $1,100 for an Airbnb review. Recent forum threads also show cybercriminals using AI to mimic Google’s E-E-A-T criteria and generate realistic, large-scale fake feedback. 1
