Fraunhofer's INQUBATOR quantum computing center has initiated an open call for industry partners to submit practical use cases for quantum computing applications by August 31, 2026. At least four selected projects will receive roughly 10 months of collaborative support, granting access to quantum hardware from multiple international providers, as well as tailored consulting and development of commercialization plans1. The German Federal Ministry of Research funds this initiative, aiming to foster the development of real-world quantum computing applications. The selected projects will have the opportunity to leverage Fraunhofer's expertise and resources to evaluate and refine their use cases. This collaboration is significant for practitioners, as it provides a chance to explore the potential of quantum computing in various industries, so it matters because companies can now tap into Fraunhofer's resources to accelerate their quantum computing adoption and stay ahead of the curve.
