Intel has agreed to acquire quantum software firm Classiq, aiming to merge Classiq’s algorithm synthesis platform with Intel’s silicon spin-qubit hardware and software to create a user-friendly full-stack quantum computing platform. The deal, announced by Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan and Classiq co-founder Nir Minerbi, will keep Classiq’s support for multiple hardware platforms and maintain a hardware-agnostic software solution after closing. The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals and customary conditions. Intel says the combination will let it add Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) to its portfolio of CPUs, GPUs and ASICs, positioning the company as a full-stack quantum solutions provider and accelerating quantum adoption. 1
