The Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP) at the Niels Bohr Institute has spun out Pelagic Systems to commercialize real-time control, calibration and characterization software for quantum processors. Developed and validated on superconducting quantum hardware at NQCP and supported by non-dilutive grant capital from Innovation Fund Denmark via its InnoExplorer and Grand Solutions programs, the platform moves parameter estimation onto FPGA controllers, cutting calibration latency from about 250 ms to 9.8 ms for relaxation times ( T 1 ) measurements. This low-latency loop enables adaptive multi-qubit operations and fast noise tracking, and includes an extensible runtime with automated Quantum Characterization, Verification, and Validation (QCVV) frameworks for heterogeneous hardware. Pelagic Systems aims to address a bottleneck as quantum devices shift from isolated labs to larger multi-qubit systems, but must prove its software can integrate with diverse commercial FPGA platforms and other qubit modalities such as neutral-atom arrays and trapped-ion systems. 1
