Researchers have identified a critical vulnerability in autonomous multi-agent ecosystems, particularly those utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs), where highly non-linear policies can induce extreme local curvature, leading to instability in minimax training. To address this issue, a novel approach called adversarially-aligned Jacobian regularization has been proposed, which aims to improve the robustness of agentic AI systems1. This method differs from standard remedies that enforce global Jacobian bounds, as it avoids overly conservative suppression of sensitivity in all directions. By mitigating the instability caused by extreme local curvature, this approach can help prevent the suppression of sensitivity and reduce the Price of Robustness.
